Pierre Kuettel made his way into the motorsports world in 1991 when he got involved in stock car racing. It wasn't until 1994 that he became a part of the NASCAR world by working as a hauler driver for Butch Mock Motorsports. He also did some light fab work in the shop, during the week, on the side. In 1996 Kuettel accepted the position of shock specialist at Butch Mock. He maintained this position for nearly three years.

Finally in December of 1998 Kuettel joined Roush as the car chief for the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford Taurus. Kuettel's responsibilities included preparation of all of the No. 99 race cars. When at the track, Kuettel worked hand-in-hand with the crew chief making adjustments to the car to improve performance.

He remained the car chief for the No. 99 team until the end of 2005 at which time he was promoted to his current position as crew chief for the No. 60 Roush Racing Ford Fusion Busch Series team.

Kuettel had an excellent run during his Rookie season. His leadership and direction helped Edwards move up one spot from 2005 to finish second in the overall Busch Series standings. Kuettel and the No. 60 team ended the 2006 season with a phenomenal record that included three poles, four wins, 15 top-5s and 25 top-10s.
