Matt Kenseth was born and raised in Cambridge, Wis., and began his racing career at the age of 16 when he would win his first feature event by his third race. By the early 1990s, Kenseth was well on his way to a successful racing career. He won races and track titles at various venues across Wisconsin, and in 1994, he became the youngest driver ever to win the Miller Genuine Draft National Championships, a prestigious feat in the racing industry.
Kenseth has earned an International Race of Champions (IROC) title in 2004, and is one of only two drivers to make the “Chase for the NASCAR Cup” in each of its first five seasons. He also has visited victory lane in the Cup Series 18 times. In addition, he has scored 95 top-five finishes, 174 top 10s, and four poles. Kenseth took home the 2003 Sprint Cup Championship, becoming Roush Fenway’s first Cup Champion. The racer also has earned 25 wins in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series along with 16 poles.
Kenseth's 2009 win at the Daytona 500 made him only one of five drivers in NASCAR history to win a Cup Championship, the Raybestos Rookie Award, and the Daytona 500, earning him a spot alongside famed racers Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, David Pearson and Richard Petty.
Now in his second decade of NASCAR Spring Cup racing, Kenseth’s competitive spirit remains, complete with the focus, determination and drive that made him one of Roush Fenways’ top drivers. On Sept. 4, 2010, WFG will sponsor Kenseth in the Nationwide Great Clips 300 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway as he drives the WFG No. 16 Ford Fusion.
