USA LugeWFG proudly sponsors the athletes and programs of USA Luge as they take part in major competitions around the globe. USA Luge has won four Olympic medals (two in 1998 and two in 2002), four overall World Cup titles (1997, 1998, 1999 and 2003), two overall Challenge Cup crowns (2002 and 2003), and nearly 500 medals in senior and junior international competition since 1994.
Called the fastest sport on ice, luge is a competitive sport that features one- or two-person luge sleds. Lugers use a rocking motion to propel themselves forward and gain momentum as they race down an icy track feet-first at speeds up to 90 mph.
USA Luge is an Olympic-class member organization of the United States Olympic Committee and the National Governing Body for the sport of luge in the United States. Chartered in 1979, USA Luge recruits, prepares, trains and equips the United States National Luge Team for international and Olympic competition, and promotes the growth of the sport nationwide.
Recently, the USA Luge team participated in a World Cup event in Winterberg, Germany. Team members Bengt Walden, Ashley Walden, Christian Niccum and Dan Joye won the bronze in the Team Relay event. This is the second third place finish in a row for the USA Luge relay team. Also, junior team member Summer Britcher won a bronze medal in an event held in Oberhof, Germany. Ferbey 4What do you get when you cross darts and shuffleboard - on ice? The answer is curling, and World Financial Group of Canada is proud to sponsor the Ferbey Four, one of the most celebrated and dominant curling teams in the sport's history. The team comprises Randy Ferbey, David Nedohin, Scott Pfeifer and Marcel Roque, a group that has been curling together since 1999.
From 2001 to 2005, the Ferbey Four claimed three world titles and four Tim Hortons Briers. Throughout the 2007-2008 season, the foursome retained a top-five ranking amid heavy competition - finishing the season in fourth place on the World Curling Player's Association merit list, and in fifth place on the World Curling Tour money list.
Team Ferbey has started their 2008-2009 season while continuing to prepare for the Olympic trials that will be held later in 2009. Recently, they made it to the semifinals of “The National” tournament in Quebec City, which is another stop on the Grand Slam of Curling tour.
Curling is a precision team sport played on ice with heavy granite stones. It has swept the world with fascination during the past several years, most notably since it was declared an official Olympic sport and brought to the spotlight in 1998.

Brad FritschWFG knows how to recognize champions. We encourage potential and help realize dreams - not only for our associates and clients, but also for up-and-coming sports stars.
WFG has reached out to Canadian golfer Brad Fritsch to sponsor him as he plays professionally. Fritsch, who currently ranks third in driving distance on the Nationwide Tour, was the only Canadian player to compete in the U.S. Open in 2007 - and, in October 2006, became the first Canadian to win the Azores Open tournament since 2001.
Hailing from Manotick, Ontario, Fritsch was named Most Improved Canadian with four top 10s in 2004, including T2 at the season-ending Bay Mills Open Players' Championship. He also was named the 2000 Ottawa Amateur champion, qualified for the PGA Tour's 2001 Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and in 2000 was a co-medalist at the Canadian Amateur and participated in the U.S. Amateur tournament.
Fritsch currently lives outside Raleigh, N.C., where he practices for upcoming matches.

College Football Pac-10WFG recently signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with Fox Sports Network and the Pacific-10 Conference. The Pac-10 - known as the "Conference of Champions" - is an NCAA Division I college athletic conference that includes 10 of the largest schools on the West Coast, including Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington and Washington State.
As part of the sponsorship, WFG presents two $5,000 Living the Dream scholarships each year to qualified individuals for postgraduate study. The scholarships are awarded during the broadcast of the Pac-10 men's championship basketball tournament game.
WFG is also sponsoring a special program to air during televised sporting events, "Dreams Realized," which highlights the coaches and athletes of the PAC-10 who have moved from dreaming to doing what they love. Our first national television commercial spots began during the 2007-2008 football season and have also appeared in men's and women's basketball games, and men's and women's tennis matches.
